Kristi’s Wish Raises $10,000 to Make Holidays Bright for Area Non-Profits
Chances are if you stopped in one of the Schrader’s Country Stores around the region you noticed the bright blue and white stars posted in the windows and around the store. There’s also a good chance the clerk behind the counter asked if you would be interested in donating to Kristi’s Wish and your name and donation was on one of those stars. Thousands of people donated to Kristi’s Wish raising over $10,000 to help to make the holidays brighter for four Fort Collins organizations.
Kristi’s Wish, a program of the Kristi Visocky Memorial Foundation (Kristi’s Fund), was the brainchild of Bob Visocky, Executive Director of the Foundation. Wanting to provide a nice holiday for area residents in need and assist organizations closely aligned with the Fund’s mission of supporting women, children and families, the Foundation chose Crossroads Safe House, Project Self-Sufficiency, Lutheran Family Services and The Matthews House as this year’s recipients. Each organization received a check for $2500 to help support the holiday needs of their clients.
According to Bob Visocky, Executive Director of Kristi’s Fund, “We want to thank High Country Beverage for underwriting all expenses for Kristi’s Wish and we are especially grateful for the staff at Schrader’s Country Stores.
